The SEC's Roadmap for the Potential Use of Financial Statements Prepared in Accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) by U.S. Issuers was published in the Federal Register on November 21, 2008.

The SEC is proposing a lengthy conversion period to allow companies to absorb the standards and avoid the difficulties experienced from the Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance. Other Federal Regulars are now working on their conversion plans to regulations based on financial reporting under IFRS.
